Die USA haben schon lange klar gemacht, dass sie ihre konventionellen Fähigkeiten nicht länger in dem Maße für Europa einsetzen werden, deshalb sind Truppenreduzierungen keine Überraschung. Wir sollten aber Trump mit öffentlichen Äußerungen keinen Anreiz zu Kurzschlusshandlungen bieten. Viel wichtiger ist, dass wir Europäer uns wieder relevant für die USA machen, indem wir eine faire Lastenverteilung für Europa übernehmen. Zudem wird Europa stärker und attraktiver, wenn wir die Ukraine in die europäische Sicherheitsstruktur integrieren.
