Constantly sprinting, but a man who has never run a marathon, Harris knows he has an electoral and a reputational deficit to overcome. irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

I told him that my father was Jewish, spoke of the impressive war record of my Jewish grandfather, of the number of Jewish men in all of the allied armies, but he was indifferent. Did he, I asked, want to clarify or rethink? “No thank you, I think I’ve made myself clear. Goodbye.” ✍️ Michael Coren Article | spectator.com/article/roald-…

How the spin unfolded around the new investment scheme was both entertaining and educational, offering observers an insight into the DNA of Simon Harris as a politician, writes Gerard Howlin irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

Ireland voting against #Mercosur is bad politics in Brussels for no political gain at home. Its a vote that sabotages our national interest on trade, undermines our credibility in EU and makes leaders look like followers.

Re; Martyn Turner's cartoon in my post above. A perfect example of "the hate filled void in empathy" I refer to in my article, just the day before, in the same publication.

Credit due to @LaceyDermot for having the guts to oppose this wrong-headed proposal from the get go. Proposal to rename Herzog Park to be withdrawn after international criticism jrnl.ie/6889586

Denaming Herzog Park by the City Council would disgrace Dublin. This is a piece I wrote in March about othering Jews in the city, but its worse. irishtimes.com/opinion/2025/0…

Excellent Statement by Ireland’s Foreign Minister Helen McEntee on Herzog Park. It is wrong & misguided of others to transpose well-founded opposition to practices & policies of current Israeli gov’t into condemnation of all things Jewish and Israeli! gov.ie/en/department-…

If @DubCityCouncil axe the name Herzog from the park in Rathgar, it will go down as a decision of extraordinary pettiness and cruelty. It achieves nothing but hurt among Dublin’s tiny Jewish community, who are blameless in all this. Government should step in here @JamesBrowneTD

This must be stopped. Imagine how Jewish people feel in Ireland today. Growing up in Dublin in the 1970’s Rathgar through to the South Circular Rd was distinctive with Jewish shops and businesses, a wonderful part of our culture.

Breaking - Important To my Irish friends here, please I need your help in trying to get this disgusting show of prejudice over-turned. 6 days after I wrote in @IrishTimes about the Macarthyite fervour in Ireland re @dublincity council have voted to de-name a little park in Rathgar, named after a famous ex-pat. Chaim Herzog born in Belfast, grew up in Dublin. He went on to become the 6th President of Ireland. He came on a widely celebrated State visit. Ireland was proud of him. He brought great credit to our country and he was a moderate, someone who stood up for all minorities. It is a small park, but to remove the name is a very big issue - it would confirm how far Ireland has gone towards a vicious far-left hate-mob mentality. This is not about politics. It is about erasing Irish Jewish history. Good people must surely stand up against this blatant antisemitism.
