Thinking about finally writing the story of what happened to my family in Sweden.
We didn’t know that Sweden’s Social Services is an independent national level agency with a strong anti American bias. "It's the last stronghold of our hardline Marxists", one Swedish friend explained to me.
By the time I caught on, the school had been creating secret reports on our kids for months. One teacher openly disliked that I was a combat deployed US Marine, and the kids were proud of it.
Police eventually got involved. I hired a lawyer.
He told me we needed to leave the country as soon as possible because if the state seized our kids (and they do it a lot over there) we would never see them again. Numerous complaints and losses at the ECHR for seizing children without cause.
So we made an emergency trip to Copenhagen and flew back to the US.
The next day the state raided our home and the neighborhood looking for our children. Our friends there texted us and warned us that the Swedish authorities were going door to door searching for us.

FIDE just released the "strict" dress code regulations for Qatar World Rapid and Blitz Championship. No offensive slogan shirts like "Chicken for KFC" will be allowed.
No "Aronian" shirts will be allowed either from what I read but jeans are OK. Arbiters will be intensively trained to differentiate between non-distressed jeans and distressed jeans. 😂
But the real question is will "Co-Champions" be allowed? 🤣🫣

Socialism failed even in Venezuela, the country with the largest oil reserves in the world.
Venezuela used to be the richest country in Latin America. Its GDP was two and a half times bigger than the Latin American average.
Venezuela's GDP is now the poorest, with a whopping 80% poverty rate (50% extreme poverty).
From 1920 to 1980, Venezuela's GDP per capita grew at a 6.4% rate, the fastest growth rate in the world.
From 2013 up to today, Venezuela's GDP has collapsed by over 70%. The country is poorer now than two generations ago.
Things were not perfect before the revolution. That is clear.
Poverty was still an issue. Corruption was rampant. People's aspirations were not met for many years.
But socialism only exacerbated these issues. Corruption, poverty, inequality, you name it.
Venezuela is without a doubt the most visible example of the dangers of socialism.

1...f5 is one of the worst legal moves in this position. The "playability" of the "Dutch" says less about any positive quality of this move and more about the size of the drawing margin in chess. Please don't do this to yourself.
