Where I lived was this clearly lower class but still functioning Hispanic neighborhood. It was like, 1 block away from what you could call a ghetto on the other side. But we often went into ghettoes to visit family members or and through the hoods for transportation and whatnot.

All the places I remember going to in my childhood before my mom moved us out, you'd be suprised at just how many "levels" of poverty there can be observed. Some poor are more poor than other poor, somehow.
