Jackson Pollock’s ‘Number 7A, 1948’ from Masterpieces: The Private Collection of S.I. Newhouse achieves USD $181,185,000 in tonight’s sale, nearly tripling the auction record for the artist. This work represents the key moment Pollock produces one of the first truly abstract paintings in the history of art.

Jasper Johns’ ‘Figure 2’ from Masterpieces: The Private Collection of S.I. Newhouse achieves USD $8,859,000 in tonight’s sale. 👀 In other @CandyDigital news during this supposedly “slow” week, our team worked through a first draft of “the diamond economy” and I was very impressed with their work. Our objectives are to bring the supply and demand of digital collectibles into balance and to provide a foundation for growing a healthy and sustainable secondary market over time for our fans. This remains very much a work in progress but a few key themes to share thus far: scarcity will be strictly enforced on selling premier collectibles in the Candy.io primary market; we will introduce a program to burn fans’ unwanted collectibles for candy.io credits; and we are looking at various auction approaches with reserve prices set by us for candy.io primary sales of the premier assets and especially grails and other treasures. Fans will, of course, have total control over the secondary markets. We plan to announce details in time for fans to make sensible decisions about their assets (so in advance of the Candy.io relaunch and self-custody on June 1st). Stay tuned‼️🔥🤫

👀 Our CTO @CandyDigital texted me today with the spectacular news that our fans have been very successful in getting the word out: we have reactivated many thousands of fans just in the last few days on Candy.io. As a result, we will be migrating seven digits(!) of collectibles to @solana, with the migration still anticipated to begin in six days‼️ While more costly for us than we estimated, the enthusiastic response to the free migration thrills us because it means the secondary markets will likely have even more liquidity and fan engagement when the wallets and self-custody are activated June 1st, with the new website launch.
