Not on the graphic but I'm secretly actually involved this Wednesday - I'll be subbing in to cast the last few EMEA games, but perhaps more excitingly I'll be observing the whole AMER playday! Fancied some behind the scenes action 🎬

@JakeSucky Shoutout to @Schnobben and Janice who are the ones stepping up to the plate! Already been doing a lot of hard work for the past few years on esports (and much else) within Embark. The best hands for the job

Cat’s out of the bag, my friends! As of last Friday, Janice and I have new roles and new responsibilities on THE FINALS 👑 We’re serious about the future of THE FINALS, and esports has a real place in it. This is the start of an internal, dedicated, team to support that. (1/3)

This post resonates with me very deeply. Tier 2 work in Rocket League has been dead for 2 years now. No paid team streams. No third party events. Third party collegiate work has died off. Rates across the board have fallen or remained frozen. There is 0 future in this game as a talent if you aren't a content creator or RLCS caster or both. This is not me targeting those two groups, it is simply a fact. The talent pipeline no longer exists and has forced me to look towards other titles and backend work as a focus now. Its sad because I have dedicated 10 years to this game and given it my all but with esports shrinking as a whole this means the opportunities have dried up as well. I would love to spend more time making content and running events and doing watch parties like I used to for the rocket league community but I can only give so much with seeing how little return there is. I will always cast the game whenever there is an opportunity, go to events when I am available, and communicate with the RL community when I can. But without sustainability, I can't keep this song and dance up much longer. Thankfully Marvel Rivals has given me new life as a talent. The open application system and interview process has been a breath of fresh air. I wish more titles took this approach as having pathways of advancement and feedback are essential for growth as a talent. Forever blessed to finally be given the opportunity to prove myself on a tier 1 stage. But even then, its not enough to make a living off of as someone who turns 30 this year and has adult responsibilities. My advice for all budding talent is simple. Either work multiple titles or focus on one and do full time content and casting (if tier 1). Have a day job or background work you can do in the off time and not have to rely solely on net 30+ contracts to pay your bills. The only casters I see working full time are either those tier 1 in multiple titles or the others who are full time content creators and cast tier 1 for their specified game. Even if you are satisfied with the game you are focusing on it doesn't hurt to dip your feet into other titles or backend work and see where they can take you. Best of luck <3

The most challenging video that I've ever had to record It's addresed to every single member of the @CounterStrike community: - Fans - Players - Teams - Collegues - Tournament organisers and others This is a TLDR clip and the full version is on youtube (link attached ⤵️)
