My favorite part is the role Kay Bignotti played. Tony Hulman wasn't planning to change the "Gentlemen, start your engines" command because the mechanics actually start the engines. Kay was the daughter of three-time winner Louis Meyer, wife of legendary George Bignotti, and had a USAC mechanic's license.
