Investment Success: Mean-reversion and signal-based: Buy recently out-of-favor assets and sell in-favor ones based on predictive systems. Combine many independent signals for robustness.

Investment Success: Focus on small, fleeting inefficiencies: Markets are mostly efficient, but tiny anomalies exist. Exploit them systematically with high frequency, liquidity, and diversification (e.g., balanced long/short portfolios).

$MSTR is 81.9% Undervalued According to the most followed narrative by BlackGoat, Strategy’s fair value of $663 sits far above the last close at $119.83. This frames the current price as a steep markdown relative to that thesis. Long $MSTR $BTC

Warren Buffett says buy $VOO $SPY or other indexes to become a millionaire. The math works. investing just $300 at the beginning of every month in an S&P 500 index fund that maintains its long-term average annual gain of 10% -- and then reinvesting any gains and dividends dished out in the meantime -- would grow to a little more than $1.1 million after 35 years. Question: Are you willing to be patient for 35 years?

Investment Success: Devote yourself fully and play the long game: Anticipate trends (e.g., technology), use leverage and tax-efficient long-term holding, live modestly, and be willing to change your mind quickly with new information.

Investment Success: Hedge against crashes and respect leverage risks: I maintain hedged positions because “I won’t have the prescience to see [a major market crash] coming.” Leverage amplified returns but could backfire dramatically.

Investment Success: Diversify broadly and stay intellectually detached: you can run 100+ long positions and dozens of shorts. The market is “so human” and requires treating everyone at arm’s length because “everybody is trying to deceive you.” Avoid emotional infatuation: “The times I lose money tend to be the times I get infatuated with something.”

Happy Good Friday! Investing: Stay optimistic and net long overall: “I was always net long… Because I never wanted to get up in the morning hoping that things would be getting worse.” Wilson believed intellectuals are often drawn to pessimism (failure is predictable; success is not), but market success rewards optimism about the U.S. and equities.

$META Glasses Assist Blind Marathon Runner Clarke Reynolds, a U.K.-based visually impaired artist known as "Mr. Dot," is set to run the Brighton Marathon with the help of Ray-Ban Meta Platforms, Inc. $META smart glasses and the Be My Eyes app. Turning Smart Glasses Into Real-Time Eyes Instead of relying on a physical guide runner, Reynolds will connect to sighted volunteers worldwide who can see through his glasses' camera and guide him via audio in real time, BBC reported on Thursday. "They tell me if there's a bin or a parked car," Reynolds said, adding that many also offer encouragement along the way. "They are not only my eyes but my cheerleaders too."

Investing Wisdom: Use shorts defensively, not aggressively: “When we go short, it is not so much to make money as it is to protect capital… We’re doing it defensively as insurance.” Shorts provided liquidity in downturns so “back up the truck” on longs. “I always use to say, if I shorted a stock and it didn’t go 20% against me, I probably made a mistake.”

Prioritize management quality over stories: “What really makes money for you is good management… Good management has an extraordinary way of making money for you, and bad management, no matter how favorable the environment, has a way of missing the opportunities.” Evaluate mid-level managers for genuine optimism and realism rather than just the CEO’s pitch. A good record alone doesn’t prove skill—context (e.g., tough business conditions) matters.

Money is made on changing perceptions, not past trends: “The only way one makes money in the market is when the market’s perception of a stock changes… To buy a stock simply because earnings have been going up 30% a year for the last three years and to just do that on a rote basis could be a very good way to lose money fast.” Focus on accelerating earnings or emerging improvements, not mechanical momentum.

Seek high-conviction, asymmetric opportunities: “I like to be in things that have great potential for huge gains or, in the case of shorts, a great potential for losses. I often tell those who give me ideas, I say, I’m not interested in buying it if it can’t go down 30%. I’m not interested in stocks with limited downside risk. If the downside risk is limited, then the upside potential is probably also limited.” Sage says: Stocks with great upside potential also have inherent downside risks, be sure to consider both sides.

Psychology and timing matter: "I've never made a buy at a low that I didn't just feel terrible and scared to death making it." Contrarian moves feel awful in the moment. When trading well, you listen to the market; when poorly, you start hoping and rationalizing. Sage says: It takes courage to buy when the world is on fire - pinch your nose and dive in.
