Our work challenges the idea that mother–offspring co-adaptation is purely environmental. Instead, we show genetically driven co-adaptation, with ZFP57 coordinating nutritional provisioning: prenatally via genomic imprinting and postnatally via mammary and lactation gene networks

Breastfeeding boosts the baby’s lifelong health – but 1 in 20 women have difficulties. @Geula_Hanin @GeneticsCam analysed breast cell changes during lactation, and found that the 'milk squeezing' cells, rather than the 'milk-producing' cells, may be to blame.
