Last week, I directed the contractor to complete the maintenance works on the Namungoona–Bwaise section of the Kampala Northern Bypass by today. Monday 13th July to ease the persistent traffic congestion. I'm pleased that the asphalt laying has now been completed as directed, and the section will reopen to traffic this morning. Road marking will follow in the coming days with minimal disruption. Thank you to all motorists and the public for your patience and cooperation as we worked to restore smoother and safer movement on this critical corridor.

You’re very unserious. There is hardly any equipment at the site but the road remains closed on a busy Monday morning. Why couldn’t they get everything done overnight? Besides, why would laying asphalt on a 2km stretch take three bloody months? Even the works don’t look as impressive.

DONE! ✅ Asphalt laying works along the Kampala Northern Bypass have now been completed —100%. The Namungoona–Bwaise section is expected to RE-OPEN to traffic by 10:00 a.m. today, once the contractor has fully demobilized all machinery and equipment from the site. In a few days, the contractor will now proceed with ROAD MARKING, which will be carried out with minimal or no disruption to traffic flow. 🙏🏾Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout the maintenance works. #Connectug
