You brought my typing/speaking style into this I just offered up an explanation why it might read weird. I try my best to uplift women's voices, my dad taught me to do this. I often can say the exact same point as a woman here and not get the fraction of the backlash.

I'm a trans man who's taught himself to read and write again after a stroke, Was transitioning whilst homeless and on the streets with no resources at all And help other guys do the same. What's performative about this?

Steph Richards: (She/her) - Say NO to hate.
Just to be clear: The phrase "gender ideology" was introduced by the catholic church some 30 years ago. It means "womens rights have gone too far - the patriarchy must rule." Now the terfs use the phrase to dehumanise trans people. Ignorance is bliss.

@stealth_riot Anyone who thinks a trans woman is a terf hasn't dealt with a fraction of what terfs inflict. A terf is someone who specifically thinks trans women are a danger to c1s women and/or that trans men are inflicted with a "social contagion." Terf rhetoric is bioessentialist!

@stealth_riot I guarantee you have terfs with or without sockpuppet accounts liking these posts. Terfs can use posts from trans men against trans women. It does not work the other way around. There is no situation where terfs would agree with a trans woman to attack trans men.

She’s fully a terf and the only reason they’re letting her get away with it is bc she’s white

everyone who isn’t a trans woman has power over trans women. to deny this is to deny that transmisogyny exists.

every “trans men don’t have power over trans women/women in general” argument boils down to “trans men don’t count as men/aren’t seen as men by anyone/are basically women in every single way that matters” just. (wokely) You’ll never be a real man

the most interesting thing about the blue button vs red button debate is how it reveals how many people believe the red button option is a purely “safe” option and not the explicitely violent option, and i think that frames the israel / palestine conversation fairly well

@WorstGirlEva Because the Trans modifier is relevant and we are discussing societal views of trans people specifically as it relates to how people see the concepts of "man" and "woman" Regardless of how we choose to identify, cıs-ciety will apply a label and a box to sort you into

now any particular reason why you decided to compare a passing trans woman and a non passing trans man? is it because the answer would be really obvious if you actually compared a man and a woman who are under the same circumstances
Rabid Admiral@admiraIish

I've never encountered a situation where trans men actually had some sort of meaningful societal headstart. Sometimes I hear "if they pass they get male privilege" but that's very conditional. Does a passing trans woman have cıs privilege over a non-passing/visibly-trans man?

@thintechgodhead Since you seem to think agab means "biological reality" let me explain that weaponing agab means you say "I'm afab so I can't be misogynist" as though c1s women have never been misogynist.

the funniest part of trans men being all "well society doesn't see me as a man so I can't hold power over trans women" is that this implies they're treated by society as cis women, and cis women still hold power over trans women

@AisSkeet They think "using AGAB as a defense" means overpowering them our biologically stronger bodies. Not terf socialized at all.

Are TERFs going sympathize with trans women in order use this to spread anti-transmasculinity? Are transphobic cis men going use this to demonstrate trans men are not men? No, that is not the structure of this dynamic. She is calling them *typical* men.

Now consider what actually happened. In this situation every statement about trans men is about them being terrible to her. Terrible enough that she can now longer trust them. Following social dynamics, who is going to use this to spread transphobia against trans men?

@BastetsPassion Tumblrite "feminism" is always trying to impose symmetry where it doesn't exist then acknowledging exceptions simply to sweep them under the rug.
