When you think about yourself, make sure that picture isn't small. Your current situation may not be in sync with your preferred trajectory but make sure your picture about yourself isn't small. You sef no small.

Many brilliant Nigerians have similar stories. To add: - Chimamanda Adichie left Medicine at UNN after ~1.5 years. - Chinua Achebe actually switched from Medicine to English at UI (and lost his scholarship). - Mark Angel dropped Medicine at OAU due to financial/family reasons. - Kiki Omeili qualified as a doctor (MBBS), practiced for ~2–3 years, then left for acting because she felt unfulfilled. - Peruzzi studied Medicine in Ukraine but dropped out in his final year to pursue music. Not that Medicine is a mistake and not that leaving it is freedom. The truth is far quieter than that. Medicine will stretch you. It will test your identity, not just your intelligence. There are days it will feel like you are building a future… and days it will feel like you are slowly losing yourself. And in that tension, people make different decisions. Some stay and grow into it while some leave and grow outside it. But growth is the common denominator… not escape. Now, this is not a call to abandon anything. It is a call to be honest with yourself! If you are in Medicine, don’t stay just because of fear. But also… don’t leave just because it is hard. Difficulty is not always a sign you are in the wrong place. Sometimes, it is proof you are being shaped. And passion is not always loud. Sometimes it whispers… and sometimes it is built, slowly, in places you once resisted. So, choose carefully because purpose is not found in running away…and it is not found in stubbornly staying. It is found in becoming🤍

Chinua Achebe went to University to study Medicine and switched to English. Let your Nigerian parent know that today at dinner.

One of my biggest prayer points right now is clarity. I need to know what to do and how to do it.

retiring your parents means covering all their living expenses so they never have to work again. if their monthly expenses are around $4300, that’s about $51,600 a year so using the 4% safe withdrawal rule, you’d need roughly $1.29m invested smartly to generate that income indefinitely. in practical terms, retirement looks like a mix of passive income streams... rental properties, dividends or a business that reliably pays them $4300/month, with some incentives and buffer for inflation & emergencies... the faster you want to retire them, the more you need to save and invest now to reach that fund.

It's what he said. He was of the impression everything has been paid for. He didn't know it was for one leg so there was no need to do that until it was made clear to him recently. That's on him tho and he has accepted that. We all thought it was for one leg too. So far, he has been open and straightforward about everything till this issue arose. It's only the hospital you can contact directly for more clarity at this point.

@__mocec @Wizarab10 @the_beardedsina @_belikebaddy Even with all his evidence, there's nowhere all these things he said were true, because if it was, he should have posted about the other donation coming up. He posted that the surgeries have been paid for even after the first operation. we are not fools.

You're deliberately being malicious. I've seen your response all over the comments. You're irrelevant, but I'll respond because of the public. This was my conversation with @the_beardedsina and @_belikebaddy. This was 3 weeks ago. Check the dates. If you're not satisfied with the explanation, I'm sure they would give a more detailed explanation. I take responsibility for informing the public that the funds raised was for both legs. I was under the impression it was. You'll not call me a thief. I didn't receive any of those funds into my account. I have raised over N500m on this app and accounted for everything. You won't besmirch my name because of N22m. Myself and @the_beardedsina have remained unsullied in every fund raising. We dont get paid, we dont get commission, we don't get cut. Nobody is stealing your money. You'll not call us thieves.

Omo I go talk my mind o, i can remember vividly that we contributed money for the two legs the first time, it was when he got there that they said that he can’t undergo surgery for the both at once as it will be risky for him, correct me if I’m wrong.

A chief owned all the wells in a village. Every morning, people lined up to buy water. The price kept rising. The people grumbled quietly. "This is too much." But when they reached the front, they paid and left. One day, a young man asked his father, "Why don't we dig our own well?" His father muttered, "Shhh. The chief has guards. They will come at night. Just pay and stay quiet." "But Papa, we are many. The guards are few," the boy responded. The father whispered, "Yes, but what if they remember our faces? Better to suffer than be singled out." So they kept paying. The price kept rising. Families bathed once a week. Children drank less water. Still, they paid. The chief watched from his balcony and smiled. "I don't even need guards. Fear is cheaper than force. As long as they fear what might happen more than they hate what is happening, they'll never resist." A council member asked him, "What if they realise they outnumber us?" The chief laughed. "They know. But each waits for someone else to speak first. While they wait, I raise the price." The prison with no walls is the one where every man guards his own chains.
