One will find the most religious illiterate people in Islam, unlike Christianity where God’s word transcends human tongue hence Bible is translated into everyone’s language to read and understand, in Islam its opposite. Quran and Hadith are restricted to Arabic, you are told that allah will be more happy with you if you recite Quran in Arabic. Studying and understanding is secondary. The everyday Muslim knowledge on his religion depends on a malam or sheikh, he runs to him for explanation on anything about the religion. In the nutshell the everyday Sunday school Christian kid is more knowledgeable in Christianity than a full grown Muslim know anything about Islam.
