This is what they’re weighing. And I don’t even want to paint it as anything negative with Odell. To borrow Harbaugh’s phrase, his heart is in the right place from all accounts. Sounds like he just really wants a chance to finish his career on a high note in New York.
But odds would probably be against him making the roster. So they have to determine if it’s worth bringing him in and inviting the hype/potential distraction. My guess today is they don’t

@DDuggan21 Concern with OBJ is if they sign him, will he be content to be the mentor, especially if that means he'd be on a low snap count and get very few targets as you suggest. I'd be worried at that point he starts talking and causing distractions

If one of the tackles gets hurt you have Mbow as the swing tackle. Patrick can play guard or center and Faalele isn’t good but he’s started games throughout his career.
Giants have adequate depth on the O-Line.

@BANKS_DROY Mbow is serviceable swing. I would’ve liked to keep Schlottman but he got paid more than you can allocate to a backup C. Still need one bc JMS gets hurt every year. I would still 100% re-sign GVR as your swing G/C.

I don’t know why an active player should be banned from providing a nuanced opinion that’s been shared by others. Tate is supremely talented but was the WR2 at Ohio State with Smith positioned as the WR1. There no guarantee that he can easily transition into the No.1 role because the responsibilities are vastly different when you’re the lead guy. Malik is simply putting that out there because he knows the challenges ahead since he’s been a WR1 in college and the pros. Perspective matters..

My mock draft hit streak on the Giants’ early picks came to an end. Reese sliding to 5 was a major curveball. Would have been fun to find out what would have happened if he went 4. My two top-10 predictions, Styles and Tyson, were gone by 10. I’ll take a small victory lap for a direct hit on Davis and partial credit for Dixon, who signed as priority UDFA
