Yesterday we taste-tested a tropical treat - star fruit! A taste test is an excellent way for kids to experience new foods in smaller portions and helps them learn to try new foods. There's nothing like discovering a new favorite fruit!

Salad is a staple here at the @GiantsGarden. While we were on-the-road last week, kids from @ymcasf took this classic dish and transformed it into Salad on a Stick topped with a drizzle of made-from-scratch balsamic vinaigrette. #Yum #BonAppetitHealthyKids

Last week, we piloted a new cooking activity w/ kids from @HamFamSF, veggie sushi rolls! These young sushi chefs practiced safe knife skills to chop a rainbow of vegetables to roll up with brown rice in seaweed - a fun way to lessen the intimidation factor of this delicious dish.
