A Clarification & Reaffirmation of Purpose Over the past 24 hours, I have seen the reactions, concerns, and conversations around my recent post. I want to take a moment to clarify my intention and reaffirm my commitment to empowering Nigerian youths through tech and skill acquisition. At no point was this initiative designed to take advantage of anyone. My work has always been centered on creating access, opportunity, and sustainable growth for young people who are trying to find their footing in today’s digital economy. The idea behind the post was simple: I intended to engage a graphic designer for a structured period of 2–3 months, with clearly defined deliverables, in exchange for a laptop and support valued at ₦600,000 which has nothing to do with the Laptop money . The scope of work discussed was few flyers per month, at a desired rate, with the understanding that this was both a capacity-building and empowerment opportunity. This was not unpaid labor. It was not exploitation. It was meant to be a mutual value exchange, providing a young professional with a critical tool for growth, while also receiving creative support That said, I acknowledge that the communication could have been clearer, and I take responsibility for that. I appreciate everyone who raised concerns in good faith, because dialogue like this helps us build better, more transparent empowerment models. My commitment remains unchanged: to support Nigerian youths, open doors through tech and skills, and create pathways for dignity, growth, and self-reliance.
