@Martin_ASFL @RenaldoGouws Jip, if Melama goes to jail (and that's a big if), it will only be for a very short period of time. Most likely he'll be suddenly diagnosed terminally ill and be out on probation.

@RenaldoGouws He might get it on paper (I have my doubts), but it will be suspended, or failing that, he will be paroled, or even pardoned, within little time. The political elite is not going to set a precedent with this that it deems unacceptable.

So my prediction: - Julius Malema will get 5 to 7 years' direct imprisonment on a sentence that should be 15 years, as it is prescribed in law as a mandatory minimum sentence. - If he takes it on appeal, he risks getting the full 15 years. If his legal team actually cares about him, they will advise him to take the sentence. - He will ignore them and take it on appeal, and the courts will find that the Judge was meticulous in her finding and implement the full 15-year mandatory minimum sentence.
