@BsblWhispererer Cody is skipping backlash. Does that mean he’s a part time champion? If Roman wrestles the next two PLEs but isn’t wrestling in Saudi then there’s no reason to have him on those shows

The AAA he avoided for years is not the AAA he returned to. Smart people would understand that. He did nothing of note in AEW without his brother. Stop acting like Tony had this guy wrestling for world titles and shit. Yall gotta accept that it is possible for people that work under the great Tony Khan to no longer want to work under the great Tony Khan. No fan base is more obsessive with wrestlers who leave their promotion more than the AEW fan base
RFTSky °¿°@DemWrestling

Left AEW only to be a jobber on SmackDown and join AAA again, a company that he tried to avoid for years 💔💔💔 INHUMANE TREATMENT

The WWE CW deal was not worked on that long and it was toward the end of the USA deal. AEW WBD was easy because AEW was already under a deal with them so it made it easier to negotiate. All of these deals didn’t start to get worked on until the last few months of the current one. Not 20 months out and I don’t even think it’s 20 months. Isn’t the option a 3 year with option for a fourth? That would put it up in 2027

First off, of course WBD won't be calling the shots, we know now that it will be Paramount. And regardless, like we just saw with WWE - Netflix, WWE - CW, AEW - WBD, etc., you make your next deal while you're still under your current deal
Great Friend of the Show Joel Wood@GiftedMoney

They may not be able to. All that article means is that WBD likely told AEW that by the time their renewal comes up, WBD will no longer be calling the shots. It doesn’t mean they’re getting kicked off in 2027 so Tony maybe just operating business as usual until he knows for sure they’re not getting picked up

And again, they have 20 months. The Netflix - WWE deal and UFC - Paramount deal happened rather quickly. They have way more bargaining power being on a top cable channel than being a YouTube show, so it's in their best interest by far to get it done before the current deal is up
Great Friend of the Show Joel Wood@GiftedMoney

Because television deals take time. It took them nearly 14 months just to finalize a new deal with WBD and they were already partners with them

The New Day will always go down in history as one of the most influential groups of all time. Kofimania and Big E winning the WWE title were two of my happiest times as a wrestling fan. That said, they had done as much as they could in WWE. All that was left was Woods winning singles title and it was clear WWE had no interest in that. So it’s time to move on to another territory. The value in the New Day plummeted the moment Big E got injured. It just wasn’t the same for them after that. The New Day was always more marketable when the 3 of them were going. Now, they get to reinvent themselves, likely in AEW, and make a new mark which I no doubt hope they get. Their last WWE match being against the Usos is fitting. Good luck to them

“We’re seeing a lot of retirements” AJ been telling yall for five years he was wrapping it up. Brock said when he came back that he was only back for a short time John Cena gave us a whole year heads up that he was wrapping it up. These retirements are not random. They just happen to fall around the same time period
Wrestle Oxx@WrestleOxx

Feels like Brock retiring is due to TKO wanting him to take less money and him giving them the big FU at Mania. We’re seeing a lot of retirements this year, best believe.

I’m pretty confident her contract is not as high as the New Days was. Bayley will be fine. Not just because I think she’d work for WWE for free if they asked her to, but because if they fired her, AEW would be on the phone with her as soon as news of her release hit the internet.
The Rise and Fall of WWE@Assassin6687

Im worried about Bayley. Shes barely been on tv lately and has a high paying contract like the New Day. With TKO being greedy pigs, I could see them either offering her a massive pay cut or just firing her outright.

AEW fans are the most in denial fans on the planet. They had to see this coming once the Paramount thing was announced. That’s why I stated that Netflix buying WBD was better for AEW because then at least WBD could’ve branched off their tv networks due to Netflix only wanting the film division. WBD is simply telling them that by 2027 when their option is due to be picked up, WBD will no longer be the ones calling the shots. That doesn’t mean Paramount won’t keep them but if I was Tony, I’d start shopping my company now. AEW isn’t dying. Tony will run shows from his basement and put em on YouTube if he has to. He has enough money to run this thing as long as he wants to do it. But AEW’s future is looking less likely to be on TBS and TNT.

This is not even negative to @AEW by the way. Just an explanation of the landscape…

IShowSpeed did exceptionally well. I had no problem with celebrity integration. It just didn’t belong in a world title feud we’ve wanted to see for four years now. Keep them out of the main event scene and don’t take up loads of tv time and it’s fine.
WrestlePurists@WrestlePurists

WWE sources said that they were extremely happy with all the celebrity performances. “We were also told they won’t be stopping any time soon.” - @FightfulSelect

Well you asked for promoter so I’m going with Tony Khan because you can not ask him a single question or go a single day without him telling you when to watch, how to watch, and where to watch dynamite 45 times. I give him his props on promoting his brand to the fullest
