The Y7 & Y8 English students @giggschool had fun doing a 'Scrapheap Challenge'. They worked in groups to make a product out of junk before marketing and promoting it. There were some really creative options ranging from a car to clothes, gaming glasses and a welding mask!

On the final day of their trip to the Battlefields, the Year 9 and 10 Historians from @giggschool visited Poperinge. Known to the British soldiers during WW1 as 'Pop', the town holds the execution area for those wrongly accused of cowardice.

On Sunday, the Y9 and 10 Historians from @giggschool visited Tyne Cot Cemetery & Memorial to the Missing, the resting place of 11,962 soldiers. They also went to Langemark German Cemetery, saw 'The Brooding Soldier' and laid a wreath for the Last Post at the Menin Gate.

Yesterday, @giggschool Year 9 and 10 Historians visited The Somme. They went to Lochnagar Crater in La Boisselle, Thiepval Memorial cemeteries, Newfoundland Park with the trenches preserved in Beaumont-Hamel, Delville Wood near Longueval and Ulster Tower. #Enrichment

The Year 9 and 10 Historians from @giggschool have arrived in Belgium for the first stage of their visit to the Battlefields. They visited the Flanders Field Museum and Essex Farm, a cemetery where 1,200 WW1 servicemen are buried or commemorated. #Enrichment
