Las Estrellas Orientales aseguran que quieren contar nuevamente con Robinson Canó para la próxima temporada de la Liga Dominicana. Albert Pujols confirmó que el equipo verde ya le hizo una oferta salarial al veterano jugador y considera que es una “buena oferta”. Según las Estrellas, Canó todavía no ha respondido oficialmente ni ha realizado una contraoferta. El conjunto explicó que Canó quedó como agente libre luego de finalizar la pasada temporada, debido al acuerdo laboral entre LIDOM y FENAPEPRO. Las Estrellas recordaron que Canó había firmado originalmente como agente libre antes de la campaña 2023-2024. Ese acuerdo le otorgaba al equipo los derechos sobre el jugador por dos temporadas, incluyendo la 2023-2024 y la 2024-2025. Posteriormente, ambas partes ejercieron opciones contempladas en el acuerdo y extendieron la relación por una tercera temporada. Tras concluir esa campaña, Canó volvió a entrar al mercado de agentes libres. El equipo reconoce que el jugador tiene derecho a firmar con clubes de otras ligas del Caribe, incluyendo México, luego de vencerse el período exclusivo para negociar en República Dominicana. Las Estrellas señalaron que no han recibido una notificación oficial de LIDOM indicando que Canó ya firmó formalmente con otro equipo extranjero. Por esa razón, entienden que el jugador todavía está disponible para negociar con cualquier equipo de la liga dominicana.
