I'm so tired of posts like this that are just total BS. FFS, keep the first house as an asset, worst case rent for break even, don't buy another house YET (market is collapsing) rent a bigger house until prices/rates drop. Keep building equity in the first house. Buy when the market is right. This is not that hard. We just watched this SAME DUMPSTER FIRE 2008-2012.

Spoke with a couple from Columbus, OH. They paid $280k for a home in 2020 & that home is now $475,000. They got a 30 year, 3.75% mortgage. They now have 2 kids, need more space but a new home doubles their housing costs. ...They're trapped & millions are in this situation.
