This week in Nursery we are learning about places in our locality and the jobs people do. We identified familiar places in photos of our community. Then we made map pictures together. Some fantastic work Nursery!

This week in Sparkle Hub, we explored the festival of Holi and created our own colourful lanterns! 🌈 A fantastic way to develop fine motor skills and build vocabulary through new learning.

Our Reception children enjoyed learning about the police today. They were very surprised to discover a crime scene when they arrived at school this morning! 🕵️‍♂️🚓.They’ve been busy searching for clues and asking lots of questions to try and figure out who was responsible. #eyfs

We had lots of Mums join us today for a 'Mothers Day' celebration in Nursery. We shared the story Superhero Mum by Timothy Knapman and sang our 'SuperMum' song before giving cards and Roses to all our Super Mums. 💞🌹

#yr6 enjoyed Musical Books in the #library today, an idea from @jonnybid webinar! Most of the children then chose a book from a different section of the library than usual and were excited to share their choices! #rfp #yearofreading #readingmatters

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed their trip to Waterstones picking their World Book Day books!

#year6 have celebrated #worldbookday by learning about #shauntan. They created graphic novel style biographies and artworks inspired by his tonal backgrounds and focal colours. The artworks were inspired by our visit from @EmmaIllustrate !

Year 2 took part in a fabulous workshop to help them to understand the cause and consequences of The Great Fire of London. It was a messy, hands on workshop! Thank you Helen from @alfrescolearning!

We enjoyed a wonderful visit from author and illustrator @EmmaIllustrate to begin Book Week! Emma worked with the whole school through an assembly and a range of workshops and then signed copies of her books. Everyone at school enjoyed it very much! #worldbookday

Our learning topic in EYFS this half term is 'People Who Help Us'. Our Nursery children have enjoyed role playing with all the new small world toys. #UnderstandingTheWorld

Year 3 had an amazing time at Ribchester Roman Museum! 🏛️ We explored ancient artefacts, learned about life during the Roman Empire, and even tried on Roman armour like real soldiers! Such fantastic curiosity and brilliant questions all round. #RomanHistory #ribchesterromanmuseum
