Some interesting perspective: In 2011, just weeks before Tim became CEO, $AAPL surpassed Exxon to become the largest company in the world by market cap That market cap was ~$330 Billion It is easy in retrospect to say Apple's continued dominance would be obvious. But that was NOT the vibe at the time. The word on the street was firmly that Apple's best growth is in the past, and iPhone tailwinds are already priced in Today, Apple's market cap is $4 trillion - a near 12 fold increase (!) And if you include buybacks, investor return from that period is closer to 20x If you walked around Wall Street on the day of the flipping in 2011, declaring that Apple would 10x AGAIN from current levels, you would have been laughed off the street for making such an unrealistic proclamation. it makes you wonder where a company like $NVDA might be 15 years from now. So keep this story in mind when you hear people say "Nvidia is already the world's largest company at $5 trillion, the best growth is already done" Time makes fools of us all. Humans are very bad at predicting the future. That is part of why I never try to do so publicly 😆
