@AFDudley0 @jillruthcarlson @SamRadOfficial 6 degrees -> friendster -> ... -> Facebook I think by the time you realize what's the killer use case it is way to late. Folks are going to make bets and lose until they win.

@kevinsekniqi I remember the 90's. TBH crypto is moving much much faster. We didn't really see PMF in internet applications until Friendster. I don't really count Google, because I see a lot of parallels between 90's search engines and crypto exchanges as they are today.

@ClintEhrlich @solana We could say the same thing about social networks, Friendster, MySpace and Orkut :). Personally I don’t think tech can overcome network effects. Unless there is some real network independent value to the tech.

@hasufl @zackvoell @TheStalwart @nic_carter If we are comparing bitcoin to social networks, Myspace, 6 degrees, friendster, FB were all interfaces for our social graph which existed outside of the tech. PoW security is the "social graph", and btc has reached web scale security. The MAU doesn't matter here.

@marvinkennis No, we had a Cambrian explosion of social networks—Friendster, MySpace, Blogger—each with millions of users when it was coined.

FRIENDSTER IS BACK! 📱✨
LOOK: Friendster has relaunched as a private, ad-free mobile app focused on facilitating in-person, phone-to-phone connections, rather than replicating its early 2000s desktop platform.
Currently, the app is available exclusively for iPhone users. | 📸: Screengrab

@danfromtheweb I made that up tbh. They did not have phones during the French Revolution. They used Friendster.
