@SteelerJb ...providing that the rest of the team construction is properly built to support that, with the correct and necessary types of role players in the bottom 6 AND those to finish the import D section. Allows for recruiting proper firepower up front also. It's all about construction.

@SteelerJb I think he's worth a look, and if we don't give him the chance, when we're the org that has brought him into the fold from N/A, then we risk losing him elsewhere to other EIHL interest. I'm not sure that would be a good look overall. I have no issue running two HGD myself...

@SteelerJb Plus I think Reece Kelly has more than earned his chops to be a regular in the main 6 on D, and with the right imports recruited on D, he could easily have a shot on the 2nd pair.

@SteelerJb I'd want another look potentially at seeing if Liam Steele had some upside to trying to step up a level, on and off, like IBN has had. I know he is a D, but that would afford us the chance to improve overall quality of 4 import D, and have another import in bottom 6 F.

@GingeMNL Said the same when Cardiff announced their increased tickets, the walk-up / casual supporters are more valuable when you factor in spend on tickets, merch, beer, etc. It might not always be that way though and loyal fans will be long gone by then!

@BantamDxn Seen some families are done and cannot justify the increase for the coming season, and like you say, they've been around a while. I could understand some of the increase if the demand has been there to watch a consistently successful team, but reality is we haven't been that.

@GingeMNL There is, and we’re fortunate we can just about absorb this increase, but if they continue to increase at 20% year on year we won’t be renewing for much longer.

@BantamDxn There already is pressure for silverware quite frankly. We've been behind Belfast during the AF era, and yet when AF was signed and all these other changes, it was to enable us to get back close to them or on par with them at least. On ice, it just hasn't happened.

@GingeMNL …a little bit of honesty about why 20% is necessary would be a good start, rather than dressing it up with faux incentives. Is it the arena costs? Because if it’s not and is to stay competitive there’s suddenly a lot of pressure for silverware next year!

@BantamDxn Oh, and don't get me started on our ST announcement either. I fully expect ST numbers will slightly drop down, but I doubt it'll make much of a difference. Grown that much off ice that walk ups will easily make up the shortfall money wise on unrenewed ST's.

@BantamDxn Of course they're not going to scrap it, and neither should they. Anyone with a brain cell knows why the league needs it to exist as a competition, but sporting integrity is yet again being thrown out the window. Reeks of desperation monetary wise to announce this now.

Showpiece event? Arguably the least wanted competition in most fans eyes out of the 3. To try and come out with this humungous bullshit so late into the competition is farcical. Announce it before the damn season starts! Coventry hosts NIHL finals so it should be fine for EIHL.

@scuff7 I can take going without silverware in a season, providing we have finished second or made finals. We have only had 2 seasons out of 6 with silverware in it in the AF era, and it won't go to 3 unless we win the Playoffs. Belfast will be 4 from 6. They're more consistent.

@scuff7 Steelers was built on success, not being there. Parades itself as the best, but the recent stats say otherwise. Belfast have won 7 titles out of 14 available in the AF era. 50%. We've won 4, and we're already out of the 15th (CC). The deeper stats are damning. We're behind.

So, a £100 increase on the ST, and also close to a 20% increase on the early bird price from last year, if I recall right. All while the World is going to shit and the cost of living still keeps getting silly too. Having thought I MIGHT go back to an ST next season, I'll pass.

@scuff7 Indeed, and when I look at the level of success in recent years (the Aaron Fox era) in terms of on ice, it just doesn't add up for me. Sure we've made progress in some of the off ice departments, but the on ice success hasn't been where it ought to have been in my view.

@helenb1982 @GingeMNL We had to cut things back to pay for this years ticket with the increase and I’m not sure where else in budget the extra £45 a month comes from as it’s already £104 now, only time I’ve not wanted to renew is with tommo era but cause of the situation we was in, now it’s financial

@GingeMNL Will be packing ours in this season, £2k for 3 tickets and parking, absolutely no chance, when ST holders are treated like an afterthought and taken for granted, match night experience is catered to the families that come once a month, if you go weekly it becomes a chore.
