@XenoPanther I sometimes get better upload speeds if I use a VPN set to the US, I guess they prioritise locale for the upload bandwidth

So I’ve just took out my HP Stream 8 tablet that was in storage for a long time. I didn’t expect it to still have any battery charge left at all!! 🤯 Excuse the dust… last time I’ve used it, I’ve attempted to install a Linux distro on it, but didn’t have success due to its quirky EFI boot loader. 😔

It's genuinely the most frustrating and lame thing when you *have* to join some Discord server just to download some software or game mods. What happened to the days where you could go onto a forum, get downloads, help and everything else that way

A Moto G3 prototype As I'm clueless with prototype android phones this will be interesting to delve into! From what I can tell it was build after release, or at least close to release.. If I find anything out about it that differs from a production model I'll update this post

Today we plead for more transparency towards consumers in the video game industry. Why does PlayStation not explain the reasons for the detachable disc drive DRM? Why do publishers choose to release a complete physical version on Xbox, but not on PlayStation? Why does Limited Run Games seemingly not care about the quality of the games they publish? Why do some games skip releases on certain platforms altogether? Why does hardly any developer talk about the different processes in the backend of Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox, and the difficulties they face there? These are only a few questions that arose repeatedly in the recent months and years. Nobody explains the underlying processes and decisions. What's the result? Customers get angry and assume the worst. Developers get called lazy, even though it wasn't their decision. Publishers are called greedy/lazy, despite certain systems preventing them from doing better. Many people seem to have no idea about the different responsibilites of devs vs. publisher vs. distributor. And in return, companies rather stay silent than work with the community on problems they are fully aware off. There would be so much to gain from educating consumers about how the industry works, but no. Companies rather fuel the "us vs. them" mentality. Sure, there are NDAs, but why does nobody ever think about the opportunity that lies in sharing certain infos? It is frustrating to watch. Take the PS disc drive DRM, e.g. If there is a good reason for it, just say so. It's still an issue for preservation, but at least there would be an informed foundation to address it in the long run. Commit to "end-of-life" solutions and simply communicate them immediately. It has been done before (e.g., GT Sport), so why don't we hear about something for the online dependencies of Xbox One and Xbox Series or the PS disc drive? On top, just imagine the wave of good PR for the company that steps up and does it first. Either companies are indeed too stubborn to realize the potential, or the consumers are right in presuming evil intentions. If gaming companies rather want to keep their lawyers and (litigation) PR busy the hard way, so be it. People will continue to fight for their rights and they will continue to voice their opinions in aggressive ways out of needless uncertainty. Initiatives like #stopkillinggames will continue to push for change. As will we. But it doesn't need to be this way.

@thebookisclosed I never even thought that Client.Framework.UI would rely on removed apis 😅

@GingerGunt The current kryptonite is AowFramework/Client.Framework.UI relying on Windows.UI.Xaml APIs that got scrapped after TH2. If I could squeak one raw-ish DWM API pointer out of WUX I'd be golden. Disassembling TH2 WUX right now 🫠

Didn't expect this to actually work 🤔 I was able to bring AoW up on RS2! This means that in theory bringing Android apps to the final build of Windows 10 Mobile should be possible, crazy 🤯

@thebookisclosed And that's where we never explored, we knew there was some funky return status coming from some Pico functions, I will try have a look myself to see if I can figure out for mobile, but I'm no reverse engineer 🤣 Nice, will drop you a message sometime soon when I have more time!

@GingerGunt Well AoWSM won't do much if adss/lxcore isn't alive. Getting those up on RS1 and RS2 requires extra attention to satisfying the checks in PsRegisterPicoProvider. I'm down to compare notes sometime

@thebookisclosed I wonder how different it is between desktop and mobile (I'm not that clued up with how windows security model works,but iirc adss didn't load correctly when we tried and AoWSM wouldn't start 😅 this was on 14393 I think where we tried, we should compare notes one day

@GingerGunt It only needs minimal patches to work with the desktop security model, no more than what I already used to get it working on TH2 🤔
