I have written to the Home Secretary @ShabanaMahmood today, with MP colleagues, asking her to consider giving police officers the freedom to form an alternative to the Police Federation. I have also secured a debate in Parliament on this topic - to be held on Wednesday 15 April.

I am abolishing Police and Crime Commissioners. For over a decade, they have overseen our police forces but have failed to provide the sufficient democratic oversight they were set up to do.
