Hello, we are Zena and Mena Nasiri! We formed this nonprofit organization, Girls of the Crescent, to increase diversity and representation of female Muslim roles in literature.

We just donated nearly 100 books to the Bloomfield Hills School District! We had the honor of talking with the superintendent about our work and personally deliver the books. We look forward to the students in the district being able to read the books 📖 #muslimgirlsread2

We just shipped three new donations of books with female Muslim main characters! 📚 We hope the students and community members of East Lansing Public Library in East Lansing, MI, Stout Middle School in Dearborn, MI, and St. Catherine’s Montessori in Houston, TX enjoy these books.

We are currently working on getting books ready to ship to twelve schools and libraries in Michigan and Texas! We are looking forward to spreading better representation through these wonderful stories! 📚#muslimgirlsread2
