Don't fall into the token burn trap, folks. This makes absolutely zero sense. At @GitHits_com we might create daily in total 30+ PRs and that would be 30*25*21 = 15 750 USD per month.

Team @GitHits_com introductions.
My name is Jaakko Timonen. I’m one of the co-founders, based in Tampere 🇫🇮 but I will be traveling 🇺🇸 quite a bit.
GitHits is a developer tool, a code example engine that grounds AI coding agents in how real systems are built. It distills implementation patterns from open-source repositories on GitHub, so your agent chooses the approaches other developers actually rely on.
The result:
• Less hallucination
• Fewer dead-end loops
• Fewer wasted tokens
• More time actually shipping
GitHits is a spin-out company from Softlandia Venture Studio. We had a Slack channel for product ideas, and GitHits was the first idea I got super excited about.
The idea came from @skvark after he got tired of scratching his own itch, always giving the same advice to other developers on how to find working code examples.
I joined GitHits because I love B2C and AI, and we’re initially targeting individual developers. That said, I’ve also done sales from startups to enterprises in the past, so I’m excited about the journey ahead.
Before GitHits, I worked for @SoftlandiaLtd , an applied AI engineering company, being responsible for the US market entry, bringing in the first customers, all of which are still customers to this day, a feat that I’m proud of, and happy to remain as a shareholder and advisor.
Before Softlandia, I was the co-founder of NoNoNo, a startup that helped consumers escalate and resolve complaints with businesses in the US.
We started with a B2B business model, and our second customer was a Fortune 500 company, JCPenney, but we landed that deal one month before COVID, and things went sideways.
We pivoted into B2C, acquired 5,000 paying customers with $0 marketing spend through SEO, all before we had to file for bankruptcy.
Tough lessons, but I'd do it again.
At GitHits, my main responsibilities are
• Communicating the vision
• Fundraising
• Recruiting
• GTM
I've always believed the best GTM is a mix of sales and marketing that's hard to separate. I've won a Finnish Comms Award (with NoNoNo), driving 750k+ organic TikTok views, and got Howspace more comments on Product Hunt launch than Slack's own launch, and now using those learnings with GitHits.
Outside of work, I'm passionate about backcountry skiing (randonnée), padel, and Liverpool FC.
The first LFC match I ever saw live was the legendary Istanbul UCL Final in 2005 🏆. In terms of backcountry skiing, my favorite spot is Lyngen 🇳🇴, but I also absolutely loved my first Japow trip that I did earlier this year.
Fun fact about me: I was once reported as a missing person. 😅
Back to GitHits. So far, things have been going pretty well, more news coming soon. 😎
We just published a new iteration of our website, so if you’re curious to learn more, check out GitHits•com (a domain I was able to snatch for $9 👊😄)
Brutally honest feedback welcome.

Team @GitHits_com: introductions.
I'm Olli-Pekka Heinisuo, CTO and co-founder of GitHits, based in Tampere, Finland.
I created the opencv-python package.
It has over 1B downloads and has even been used in NASA's Ingenuity helicopter.
If you have ever installed OpenCV in Python, there is a good chance you have used my package.
Now I'm building GitHits to ground AI coding agents in how real systems are built.
The idea behind GitHits came from a pattern I kept seeing.
A developer gets stuck.
They try Google.
They try Stack Overflow.
They try an AI assistant.
Often, the solution already exists in open source. The hard part is finding it among millions of repositories and real codebases.
GitHits searches open source repositories and surfaces real implementation examples, helping AI coding agents choose the approaches developers actually rely on.
Before GitHits, I co-founded @SoftlandiaLtd, an applied AI engineering company where we help organizations turn AI ideas into real systems. I still remain involved there in an advisory role.
Earlier in my career, I also worked on robot-based testing systems with companies including Google and other well-known mobile phone manufacturers.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching TV series and movies, and growing chili peppers.
Fun fact: my first programming project was a line-following robot built with LEGO Mindstorms when I was about 10 years old. That's probably where this whole journey started.
We also just pushed a new iteration of the GitHits website. It's still an early version, but if you're curious to see what we're building, take a look: githits com
More team introductions coming soon.

an interesting update: the team is starting to move away from AI coding completely (devin/claude/etc) because it's so much harder to review the AI code than writing things themselves

just found out that since this, i've become a top 50 user of Devin globally, now pushing ~60 PRs a day. AMA
