I’ve got a better solution. If you’re under 18 and commit a home invasion, steal a car, or engage in machete violence—let’s do what they do in Singapore: public caning. Six strokes for the first offence, doubling for each subsequent offence. You’d only need to cane a few and post the videos on social media—and watch crime levels plummet overnight. It sounds harsh, but I’d argue that it’s actually less detrimental to a teenager than locking them up in an institution with other criminals.
