You shouldn't judge a course by its driving range. Some of the best links in Scotland and Ireland don't have one. Practice is fine, but over there, the lack of a putting green will remind you that this is a game for playing, not perfecting. Or maybe you should judge a course by its practice tee. Like this warm-up mat at @covesealinks. It's authentic and quirky, simple but wild, and those four words sum up Covesea pretty well. And if you're going to play golf across an ancient washed out sea cove, hitting balls into one of its walls will remind you exactly where you are, and why it's unlike any golf place in the world.
