If I was in Wales, I’d be checking this bird out. Phone pics make it tricky but I think the bill feathering give this bird strong credentials for it being an American White-winged Scoter and potentially a first for Wales? Happy to be proven wrong though if better pics emerge.

Well I wasn't expecting that this morning - the first Alpine Swift at Kenfig Pool since 1983. Made up to have found one of my most wanted Kenfig birds and my second for Glamorgan after the Porthcawl bird last March.

Lovely views of the Pallid Harrier this afternoon as it flew west past Salthouse Point, having followed its progress across the estuary from Llanelli WWT. What a bird!

Great Raptor day on Llanrhidian marsh. Juv Pallid Harrier, 2 Ringtail and a Male Hen Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Kestrel, 2 Buzzard, 3 Red Kite and a couple of Peregrines playing havoc with the waders all day. @GOWEROS1
