Pointing out that the "past was bad", deconstructing "nostalgia", etc, should mean nothing to the Fascist because Fascism isn't predicated on reliving a glorious past but taking the structure of a historical national (and/or racial) destiny and building a future with it.

"The Fascist state is more than a state, a dynamo" (Pellizzi). Fascists opposed Romanticism, instead favouring a pragmatic authoritarianism. They criticised "sensitivity, without direction" (Pound). The past was a springboard for action & unity, not a nostalgia to return to.

Fascism, contrary to New Left conjecture of being built on "nostalgia" was just as much of an end-of-history ideology as Liberalism and Marxism. Yet rather than seeking the dissipation or abrogation of societal strife, it was brought under subjugation of the State/Race.

The most blatantly anachronistic criticism of "capitalism" that you see from larping ML's is that "poverty" still means starving to death on the streets & dying of exhaustion from factory work. It's a testament to how inapplicable anything Marx wrote is to society today.

You do not "need money to not starve" in any Western country in 2026. People do not die from outright starvation anymore, the impoverished are more likely to be obese than the wealthy. The poor are completely provided for by welfare and charity, neither of which they pay for.

It could be said that the main reason why Russian autocracy lasted for as long as it did was that Russia never had a Legitimist interlude that doomed the Vienna settlement like most continental countries had. Russia was a Liberal-Conservative country from Alexander I onwards.

This has never been a worthwhile criticism of ideology either. Every ideology is a vessel of sovereignty that has to contextualize everything else within its own legitimacy or it has no reason for existing. It is always in constant conflict with everything that is not itself.

Discontent with this kind of thinking is at the root of the rise of populism because it can be applied to any & every ideology that has ever existed, including progressivism. This extreme rooting out of an "other" was far more prevalent in the USSR than Fascist societies anyways.

"Hitler respected Muslims" no. Fascists hate everyone, period. They will make temporary alliances, but there's no group they won't eventually go after, including currently considered "white" ones. It's an ideology of perpetual oppression of "others".

Hungary uses Royalist symbols to emphasize the historical legitimacy & continuity of the Hungarian state & people. Likewise, Austria uses Habsburg symbology to emphasize its difference to Germany & Catholic heritage. The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.
