@Sut_40 @Dodgers Rick, in your first start, in 1976, you were pulled after five scoreless innings against Houston, during which you gave up just 2 singles and a walk. Curious as to why Lasorda would lift you. Arm trouble? Fatigue? (Lasorda's first-ever game as manager, by the way.) RIP Davey.

A great baseball man. It was a privilege to work with and learn from Davey during our years together with the Padres. And I treasured the chance to get his perspective on the game during his time as manager of the Brewers and during his long run as a coach with the Phillies. RIP.

The Dodgers mourn the loss of Davey Lopes, who passed away today at age 80. Lopes was a member of the team’s record-setting infield of the 1970s and 1980s and one of the finest basestealers in MLB history. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
