“Uganda’s oil and gas sector is already a major engine of economic growth. Since the Final Investment Decision in 2022, the sector has injected more than USD 20 billion into our economy—driving activity across agriculture, construction, transport, hospitality, ICT, and education. As one of the country’s key growth pillars, the sector is creating jobs, empowering local enterprises, strengthening human capital, transforming agriculture, mobilising revenue, uplifting communities, improving infrastructure, and stimulating growth across multiple industries. This impact is being felt now—even before we produce our first barrel of oil.” — Ms. Gloria Sebikari, Manager Corporate Affairs, @PAU_Uganda #PAUAt10 #UGOilJourney #CreatingLastingValue

#WCW 👑✨ Today we celebrate Vivienne Sempala, an internationally accomplished geoscientist whose 16+ years in the petroleum industry continue to shape Uganda’s oil journey. 💪🏽🇺🇬 From @Makerere to @RoyalHolloway , University of London, Vivienne has built deep expertise in Basin Evolution & Dynamics, playing a key role in advancing geological understanding of the Albertine Graben. Her work in Basin Analysis strengthened interpretations of rock formations and stratigraphy — critical insights that supported resource quantification and informed Uganda’s oil exploration potential. 🛢️🗺️ Now as Manager, Operations & Compliance at @PAU_Uganda , Vivienne leads with excellence and purpose. She ensures effective monitoring of petroleum exploration activities, drives adherence to regulatory and licensing requirements, provides sound technical guidance, and spearheads practical guidelines that reinforce compliance across the sector. Her leadership safeguards operational integrity while championing responsible and sustainable resource development. 🌍✨ Through technical brilliance, regulatory stewardship, and unwavering commitment, Vivienne continues to create lasting value for Uganda’s petroleum sector.
