Problem with the Street Fighter Alex thing is that the damage is done. Even if they retcon it, everyone remembers. Everyone Remembers that origin story where Reed meets Sue as a kid. Everyone Remembers Colossus. Green Lantern and Arisia. Alex And SF6 have this stigma now forever.

TL;DR: The cousin part is likely all that's being changed. Doubling down on the relationship itself. Blaming fans for being confused at stuff they wrote. About what I expected, but still disappointing.

All in all, this was about what I expected. You're gonna remove the cousin part, which is fine, but it's still not good enough. Your attempts to put the blame on the fans for being 'misled' is insulting. You can still keep this game and this version of Alex, I don't want either.

"Tom wasn't around, Alex wasn't around, Patricia wasn't around." No, they were around. We have only ever seen them around each other, ever since Street Fighter 3. You can feel free to try and retcon it, but just know that people are smart enough to see through it completely.

As for Tom's story, it does nothing to ease my concerns. If anything, it makes it worse. It's clear you're doubling down on the relationship between Alex and Patricia both growing up and eventually marrying while trying to come up with some excuse as to how it's not weird.

they hardwire into your brain that alex's main purpose in this family is to "protect" patricia and they even retcon shit to ensure there's not even a healthy dynamic. for most of his life according to the post alex didn't even care for patricia like that and got "sick" of tom??
