you can be incredibly proud and happy about bts’ mexico reception, while also acknowledging that it is extremely fucked up for them to be used as pawns for diplomacy. again. i hope this doesn’t set a precedent and that bts never feel pressured. they should have complete autonomy.

while we are extremely proud, let’s also make sure that our excitement does not turn this into a “thing.” they have many countries left to visit and i don’t ever want them to feel pressured to be south korea’s political ambassadors. their freedom should be our priority and pride.

@theastrojin ARMY is happy with the ARMY reception BTS got in Mexico. That 50k underneath the balcony. Not the politically-navigated meet up or the President. In India it would be a private, just like our cricket World Cup winning teams’ meet & greets. So ARMYs won’t get to see BTS.

Some of you are being rather obtuse about why them being pushed to make diplomatic visits is a dangerous precedent. They’re coming back to the US. Think for 5 secs about why we don’t want this to become a trend. Hype BTS, hype ARMY, never hype politicians who want to use them.
