This week’s collection highlight is a brass stencil from the company of Thomas West, Oilskin Manufacturer, Buchanhaven, Peterhead, c.1895. Thomas West was born and grew up within the fishing community of Gardenstown, where he worked as both a tailor and a fisherman. #heritage

Many of our IMS museums are moving into their winter opening hours, keep checking online with their sites to make sure you get the most out of your visit.

As the days get shorter the town is starting to feel a bit quieter and some of the local businesses are moving onto Winter Hours. While we remain open at the usual times of 10am to 4.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and from 11am to 4.30pm on Sundays...

Today P6 at Mountfleurie PS came to have a taste of what a Museum Curator does. There was lots of curiosity, creativity and teamwork on show - all things that the class will need when they are curating their own exhibition in the Museum early next year! #HeritageCareersWeek
