Do you ever find yourself asking, “Is that value on the stack or the heap?” GoLand 2026.2 visualizes Go compiler escape analysis right in the editor, so you no longer need to wade through the compiler output to understand what was allocated on the heap and why. Read our guide to escape analysis 👇 blog.jetbrains.com/go/2026/07/20/… #NewInGoLand

Did you know the order of fields in a Go struct can affect its memory usage? have you spent hours investigating allocations, memory usage, and performance with pprof and compiler flags? GoLand 2026.2 brings struct layout fix, escape analysis, pprof profiling, and optimization insights right into the IDE. Great job @GoLandIDE team.

No more jumping between Go profiles and source code. GoLand 2026.2 shows profiling data – how much resource overhead each line and call site creates – right in the editor gutter so you can see hotspots in context. #NewInGoLand

GoLand 2026.2 ships a redesigned profile viewer that makes it easier to navigate and understand `pprof` profiles. Modern flame graphs, call trees, top function, and graph views allow you to easily find hot paths and jump to the source in just a few clicks. #NewInGoLand

Profiling Go programs? Say goodbye to complicated manual `pprof` setups and having to navigate between your IDE and the web interface. With GoLand 2026.2, you can profile CPU, memory, mutex, block, and goroutines in regular Go apps with standard run configs – no extra setup required. #NewInGoLand

Asking yourself “Where is this element used?” Try GoLand’s Find Usages function – it will open a pop-up where you can quickly navigate to what you are looking for. Press ⌥⌘F7 (macOS) / Ctrl+Alt+F7 (Windows/Linux). #GoLandTip

A goroutine profile snapshots the current goroutine stacks, so you can see what exists right now (and where each goroutine is stuck). Use this profile when your service is hanging, leaking goroutines, or piling up under load. For concurrency bugs, look into goroutine, block, and mutex together. #golang

Block and mutex are easy to mix up. A simple rule of thumb: Block tells you what waited, mutex tells you what caused the wait.

A block profile in Go shows you where goroutines are blocked – it tells you where your program spends time waiting instead of doing useful work. A mutex profile, on the other hand, captures the goroutines that block other goroutines.

`alloc` tells you where allocations are coming from over time. Use this parameter when your app creates too much garbage, even if memory is eventually freed. 🧵 2/2

`inuse` tells you what’s still alive on the heap. Check it when memory keeps growing, GC is overworked, or you suspect retained objects. 😎Pro tip: Force GC first before running a heap or allocs profile for the clearest view of currently live objects. 🧵 1/2

🔥Hot take: Heap and allocs are the same profile. They collect the same data. The only difference is the view they default to: 🔹Heap defaults to `inuse_space` (memory currently live). 🔹Allocs defaults to `alloc_space` (total memory allocated since startup). 🧵 0/2
