I am very proud of this team making it this far after that HORRIBLE start to this season, firing our coach mid season, trading away our leading point scorer and our captain in a span of 3 weeks, and still managing to win 2 playoff rounds as a .500 6 seed team.

What an incredible postseason for @ThunderbirdsAHL ⚡️ After clinching late in the season, Springfield earned major playoff upsets and advanced all the way to the third round. We loved cheering you on along the way! #stlblues

Springfield opened playoffs with 8-1 loss to Charlotte They finished tonite with 8-1 loss to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton In between those two defeats they put together a run that'll be remembered in Springy for a long time WBS moves on to face Toronto/Cleveland winner

This run from Springfield was nothing short of remarkable. Defeated 2 of the top 3 teams in the Atlantic (including the best in the AHL) Plus, they took the 2nd best the distance. This removed any doubt that Steve Ott can coach at any level & will be a great NHL head coach soon

@Lava1staff1 We started 2-10 to kick off the season, fired our head coach in January, traded our leading goal scorer and captain in February/March and still did this.

@GoTBirds413 I missed a lot of the start of the season crazy that we traded so many people I never knew!

The loss 8-1 in game 1 of the first game of the playoffs and the loss 8-1 in the last game of the playoffs is insane. Hockey god faith has never been higher. WBS is freaking good. I hope they win the whole thing. It was fun with all the fan bases along the way. Helluva run.
