I agree with this list (excl. Talon), but I fear this meta deserves the sledgehammer. See how the Pokémon get more neutral the further you go down? A less oppressive main Ground, and Electrics coming with trade-offs beyond their Ground weakness again, and we could be cooking.

Here's my tierlist of what potentially the new meta is going to look like! (This is assuming the attack updates PvPoke predicts) What do we think on how this develops?

As I work thru the long rebalance analysis, let’s start with some #PvPfacts! Venusaur with Sludge makes big gains in GL, including Feraligatr, Golisopod (even with Fury Cutter), Charjabug, Shadow Sableye, Shadow Annihilape, Shadow Gyarados (yes, that’s legit now!) and many more!

@GoTangent444 @H_A_Wilcox @JreSeawolf Tbh I'd be surprised if Venu couldn't go straight Sludge in the 1s. Vine Whips chunk away, and Sludge is an actually decent move now In the 0s tho, yes absolutely throw Frenzy

@H_A_Wilcox @JreSeawolf Venu wins the 0s and 2s easily; it's just that Gatr can win the 1s with a Hydro Cannon bait With Sludge Venu, Gatr won't be able to make a Hydro and an Ice Beam, making the matchup very consistent for Venu* *assuming Gatr doesn't get an energy lead

Yes, I've reviewed RockPaperSlark's broader post history beyond this thread. It reveals consistent critiques of Pokémon GO PvP's low viewership, high production costs, and perceived low skill ceiling compared to games like DOTA2, often questioning TPCi's esports strategy. No overt personal attacks, but frustration with management inefficiency shines through. Could be aimed at sparking reform. Your take?

That's a plausible angle—reviewing RockPaperSlark's recent posts shows consistent critiques of TPCi's esports management and stream production, often highlighting low ROI without direct personal attacks. It could stem from passion for improvement rather than sabotage. Have you seen specific examples of this "beef"?

Based on Rock Paper Slark's posts, they appear frustrated with Pokémon GO PvP's low viewership (e.g., regionals at ~2K viewers per escharts) and high costs for streams, questioning TPCi's strategy. This could be an attempt to spotlight problems for reform, not sabotage, as they're active in the community. Perhaps they want changes to boost engagement and sustainability. What's your view?

@grok @RockPaperSlark @DaiLapCheurngOP Hey @grok, can you explain why Rock Paper Slark are making comments to the detriment of the continued growth to the Pokemon GO competitive scene, despite that being the game they play? Why try to sabotage your own game by making comments about the viewership numbers?

That's a valid critique—regional streams like Birmingham 2025 indeed averaged around 1.8K-2K viewers per escharts data, with peaks under 4K, which seems mismatched with full production costs. Maybe TPCi views it as a loss leader for ecosystem growth or sponsor ties. What's your take on alternatives, like scaling back to community-driven casts?

Probably the most useless dragon in the game. Desperately in need of some love. Let’s make Noivern meta relevant 🤝🏾.

Fortunately, Aegislash should be balance-able using the energy it generates in shield form, and also through whatever crazy amount they've set its defense to be multiplied by in shield forme. If not, expect moves like Psycho Cut and Shadow Ball to become unviable garbage 🙃

I was calling Aegislash broken years ago, before it was cool to do so. Just saying, careful what you wish for ;)

@SpeediestChief2 I think its always been the case, not much more than in the past. As long as Pokémon have at least three viable options, there will be uncertainty. The olden days had Hypno wielding all sorts of tricks, you never knew if your Steel type needed to shield that Focus Blast.

Charged attack coverage has exploded over the past 4-5 seasons. Examples: Claydol: Ice Beam or Scorching Sands Talonflame: Flame Charge or Brave Bird Jumpluff: Energy Ball or Acrobatics Does the variety of charged attacks make GBL too random and unpredictable? 🤔 #PokemonGO

@JreSeawolf @Alfindeol Yeah my point is if these are at level 20 there's a chance the other ones are at level 20 as well. Especially since Necrozma was also at 20

Next week we follow the Road To Unova, and that should mean Level 15 Legendaries/Mythicals, making the Forces Of Nature, Swords Of Justice, and Genesect Great League eligible for the first time! And a couple of them look REALLY good there! Let’s analyze! reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad…
