🚨Twitter/X made a HUGE fundamental change (out of the blue today) that will sadly impact ImYouthSoccer and the content we share on this platform. We have been able to share so much as we have ~100 different streams of data that we have slowly built over the past several years in an easy to digest format using X-Pro (formally Tweetdeck). Out of the blue today, with no warning, X pulled that functionality out of the Premium subscription and into the highest cost Premium + which is $400 a year. We run all our accounts for free, it is a big time commitment, and we are not open to paying for the new premium subscription model partially out of principle and because the platform itself have been struggling as well. We are not open to a subscription model or taking donations as both would involve risk to our anonymity which is extremely important to us. What this means moving forward as it will take 2-3X time for even a simple tweet. 1. We will not be posting as much or it will be 5-10 posts in a few minutes (ie commitments). 2. We will not be tracking the 2028 class at all as far as data as there is no way we could do it justice. 3. We will not see any posts unless we are tagged in them. 4. We repost or share a LOT of college soccer programs tweets for extra exposure (often 5 to 10X) which will be a lot harder. We are going to see what makes sense within the same time commitment but if you notice any changes that is the reason why and there is a slim chance that X changes course on their decision today. Just wanted to let all our followers know.

Different types of team manager brochure distributors at soccer showcases: 1. The one with candy & snacks (yes!) 2. The one who is as elusive as Bigfoot 3. The dad with NY/NJ accent who always manages to work his daughter‘s name into a short conversation 4. The one who insists on typing everything into their phone that they can’t see and causes you to miss half the game. 5. The one who is so apologetic to even be approaching and interrupting you. 6. The one with all the gear whose level of professionalism is > real job. What am I missing? #RecruitingHumor #CollegeSoccer

@ByScottBarrett How many of those finals had the losing team being a private school? I know this year was an exception. The point isn’t that public can’t win, it’s that most of the time the rest of the division is competing for only 1 spot, not 2.

@ImYouthSoccer Her coach has her rated as a mid major D1 player and has been there for years with friends for sure. Any GA teams in New England in GA Top 10?

@GoURIRams In most markets yes as there are way more showcases and way more coaches on the sidelines. The only exception would be the top 10 GA clubs especially if she has been there a long time and has a lot of friends. Also depends on what her goals are as far as college soccer

🚨 If you missed it yesterday and play in the #GirlsAcademy this is one you are going to want to read 👇
ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer@ImYouthSoccer

🤯 Division 1 Program attendance at Girls Academy Showcase events is a major PROBLEM! We analyzed 4 years of GA attendance data directly from the Girls Academy and Division 1 college program attendance is on a multi-year decline across the board. Even with the league growing substantially, now up to 129 clubs, the percentage of D1 recruits is declining year over year over year. The reality is less than 20% of all GA players will be recruited to play Division 1. Off course the top 10 GA clubs will say there are lots of coaches are their sidelines (and there are) but the reality is there is are 126 clubs and soon to be 129 this coming season so a huge drop off in coaches, where there should be MORE attending, should be concerning and those that are angry at this post, this is actual data which tells a story. What this means for the modern recruit: The dramatic 51% decline in attendance for events like GA Spring NC and steady drops across Winter Showcase and Champions Florida events show this is a league-wide trend, not just isolated events and means fewer eyeballs on your play in real-time which is the #1 way to get recruited. The Strategy Has to Shift: We aren't saying showcases are dead—we are saying your strategy must adapt to fewer sidelines. You cannot just show up and expect to be discovered. Direct Communication: Target coaches you want watching you before the showcase. Professional Film: High-quality game film is essential when fewer coaches are present. Supplement with ID Camps: Ensure you get 1-on-1 interaction at your top schools that are realistic at all levels. How is your recruiting strategy adapting to the new reality of showcase attendance? Let us know in the comments below! 👇 #GirlsAcademy #CollegeSoccer #SoccerRecruiting #D1Soccer #YouthSoccer #NCAASoccer #SoccerParent #SoccerData #ShowcaseStrategy #AdpatOrFade

🚨It is fascinating to us how little engagement there is on our X posts as wondering if the data (which is very time consuming to collect) and graphic creation (even with AI is not easy) is not helping as many people as we thought it would.
ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer@ImYouthSoccer

We just shared EVERY Division Conference and the number of verbal commitments that 349 programs have in the Class of 2027. It was a major work effort for us so be sure to scroll our timeline to see where 1279 players are headed. Important to know where there is opportunity left.

🚨What are some of the D1 programs with the most players already in the #TransferPortal (Per coach on Big Soccer) and there are 24 programs with 7 or more already and one has 14 players. The number in parentheses represents the amount of grad transfers included in the number.

This is bound to be an unpopular post with some, but I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER. Not for recruiting or the level of play, but for what it provides young players that club does not. I will often hear coaches claim that it players digress or develop bad habits. I disagree. First of all, “if you’re good, you’re good.“ And I believe that young athletes who are playing any sport in any environment are put into situations where they have to react, make decisions, execute and grow. When it comes to girls in particular, high school provides a platform for growth in confidence and leadership that far outweighs the technical and tactical compromise for just a few months out of the year. The MLS is basically high school for Messi, and he seems just fine. Obviously, to play at the next level, the development that club provides is ESSENTIAL. And I think there is no reason that both platforms can’t coexist for the majority of players. There’s nothing quite like the camaraderie on a high school team and playing for your community— not to mention the pure FUN. #IfYoureGoodYoureGood #WeCanAllGetAlong #CoachBrain @WMTribeWSOC

@BillKoch25 @ByScottBarrett Figuring out the RPI calculations IS hard…figuring out we are using an RPI calculation is NOT. Why is a team with a 30 win season a 16 seed in NCAA tournament while a 25 win team might be a 1 seed?

Question for @EricRueb, @ByJacobRousseau or @BillKoch25: How can Portsmouth (7-1) be the No.5 seed in the Div. 1 football playoffs and have to go on the road to play No. 4 Cranston West (5-3) when the Pats already beat the Falcons 27-0. Explain this to me like I’m Michael Scott.

@KevinGreen82 @IBarkerSoccer His funny delivery and ability to get coaches of all levels to understand his sessions was what always impressed me the most. I’ll never forget when he asked a youth player from his session to point out his mom in the crowd so he could scold her!

@mlycan12 I consider myself a knowledgeable parent of a u15 ECNL daughter. I’ve coached both at the HS, D3 college and ECNL level and I still find it so hard to not fall into the “keeping up with the Jones” mentality with my kid. Thank you for your outlook as a college coach.

I find all of the debate regarding the rise of ACL injuries in women’s soccer players interesting. Basic science, and the female anatomy explains the higher incidents in women over men pretty easily. But everyone is trying to commit money to research and figure out why we are at an epidemic level, particularly for female soccer players. The answer to me seems quite obvious: overuse. The youth sports machine the parents have bought into has created a culture where players are specializing in soccer at very young ages. They are playing on multiple teams, sometimes high school and club concurrently with far too many games and far too little recovery. Apparently the latest trend is to play on multiple clubs such as a GA team in addition to an ECNL team to increase exposure and “development.” There are no amount of preventative measures that can offset the overuse of certain muscles and the same set of movements over and over and over again without any other natural cross training through other sports. Why are people so confused by this? #ACLepidemic #ACLinjury

@mlycan12 @ECNLgirls Agreed Coach…VERY expensive trip coming from RI but can’t beat weather, college exposure or field conditions. Traffic getting in/out brutal but that’s small sacrifice to play here. Just have to budget better throughout the year.

Day 4 finale for the Tribe. Letssss Goooo. My personal review of @ECNLgirls San Diego, if anyone cares…. 1) Possibly unpopular with some East coasters but even though travel here costs more I’d seriously be willing to come for EVERY showcase where we are guaranteed picture perfect weather for playing/evaluating vs snow, cold, rain and rescheduling hell the rest of the year. 2) Best youth fields I’ve ever seen. It’s like artificial turf in grass form—does it even grow? Maybe just line them better 3) The :00, :20, :40 kick off times DEF alleviated traffic but made my head 🤯 when trying to figure out schedule for just 2 coaches. Not sure which is worse 4) You. Need. More. Porta. Pottys. If not for coaches for the poor players who were playing half a mile away from nearest one. @ShacksTribe @WMTribeWSOC
