there’s a lot of talk of hookup culture but my sense is that there was a very small window in which women could pursue genuinely casual, no strings attached sex. social media/dating apps do not allow for anonymous one night stands. we should be critiquing situationship culture

situationships are just a symptom of an extremely risk averse culture where people would rather be in a low grade state of anxiety and misery to avoid having their feelings hurt by getting dumped. technology just allows for these types of things to prolong themselves

I need married people to stop telling unmarried people online about the sacrifices and ways they’ve willingly compromised to keep the marriage healthy. Nothing you say will make sense to a single person because being single comes with being self centered. Things you’re doing out of love will sound like hell to a single person.
