Participants proposed safeguards including parental controls, awareness programmes and technological measures to restrict social media access for children below 16 years of age.

The discussion brought together representatives from government, academia, industry and law enforcement to examine concerns such as digital dependency, cyberbullying and exposure to inappropriate online content.
