Chelsea fans rightfully upset for JP but it may be the best thing for himself as a player and for Xabi’s Chelsea. As I said on @ConnCFC space this past weekend, he looks knackered towards the end of games and even though he seems to recover freshness better than Ekitike, it will eventually tell/he’ll snap if it continues because you don’t want him overplaying, especially with his style that sees him cover so much of the pitch whilst also take a lot of thuds and bumps. Rest up over the summer will be better for his long term career. -Omid #CFC

This appears to be an effort to undermine Maresca. His departure from Chelsea was poorly handled; by pursuing another opportunity, he breached the commitment to the team he was contracted with. Consequently, Chelsea may have a strong locus standi (legal standing) to pursue the matter.
