@GoalsnGallops Yep, I've become to enjoy the close season more now. I could easily not watch any Everton games etc but they'd still be there playing, getting beat, beating boring etc. At least when no body is playing there's none to even think about

Football season fast approaching and have very little interest tbh. Two stand out things from this summer for me. No Everton to piss me off. Not having to listen to Jamie Carragher.

Possibly some pocket talk, but here goes. Masquerade Ball was cooked in the pre parade. The market had been telling you all morning and his behaviour was awful with it. I'm not shocked by much in this game. I did not see Ballydoyle making the pace with Minnie Hauk in a million years. A triple Oaks winner and Arc second, sent forward to set it up for a 3yo yet to do it on the big stage. I was certain she'd get the ride Kalpana got, held up off a frantic gallop. Got that badly wrong and never saw it coming. Balding has nipped in and stolen it. Kalpana collapsed this morning and Minnie was friendless. Somebody knew that pace map hours before we did. Calandagan beat, Ben beat. It just happened with MH doing the donkey work to bring it about, and the filly I had rated behind her came and took the lot. Give Minnie that ride and I think she steals it. Sickener to take, but that's racing. Onwards.

Got the jolly beat, which was the hard part. I couldn't have had Kalpana for love nor money. Fair play to connections. Right about the race, wrong about the winner, that's Ascot!
