The map voting and side selection phases before each match unnecessarily delay players from getting into the actual gameplay.
Unlike FPS games, where different maps significantly influence gameplay and strategy, this game's core mechanics are not heavily dependent on the map itself. Because of that, replacing map voting with a random map selection system would be a better approach. It would reduce downtime between matches while also keeping the experience fresh by naturally exposing players to a wider variety of maps, making the game feel less repetitive over time.
As for side selection, approximately 85–90% of the world's population is right-handed, and many players find playing from the left side more comfortable. Rather than requiring a vote before every match, I believe it would be better to remove side selection voting entirely and instead allow players to choose their preferred default side in the settings. This would ensure that every player can consistently face their opponent on the right side of the screen from their own perspective, providing a more consistent control experience while also improving convenience and the overall pace of the game.
