when I first heard abt card counting I thought it raised your odds by like 20% or something crazy. No, if you’re accurate you can move the houses edge by maybe 1% at the very high end. That’s what casinos lose their shit over, and ppl still think they can game the system

Played at 3 casinos. Horseshoe: 1/3, 2/5, 1/2 PLO +$1700 Bellagio: 2/5 +1200 Aria: 2/5, PLO 1/3/5 (I think) -3500 Aria poker room sucked ask. Dinner at arias waa good. But everything else sucked.

In Magic the gathering: They play cards that are very powerful in specific scenarios, but useless most of the time (life-gain cards like stream of life are a great example of these) We judge our cards not only for the best-case, but for consistent performance. Contributing to winning in a non-flashy way is less exciting but often more important. Think of every card you put in your deck, or every hand you play, as a stock investment. Any stock can win! But we want to invest our money in those that have a high chance of performing well, not those that need the stars to align.
