My white male husband had a 4.0, top MCAT score, career experience, a fantastic essay, community service, etc, etc. and he got waitlisted at one school after absolutely crushing his interview (I heard the whole thing), and was rejected by every other school.
He’s now the top of his med school class heading into his fourth year.
We reject a tremendous number of qualified people and then complain about a shortage of physicians.

Los Angeles is turning into a 3rd world mass where you never hear of anything interesting happening. This is a shame because 10 years ago it was vibrant. Now, the only culture is bisexuals waiting in line for matcha they saw on tiktok and everyone goes to bed at 9pm.

I'm bullish on LA. I might consider myself a California Maximalist. You can't kill California. It's bulletproof, eternal, unstoppable. A bet against California is a bet against fate itself. Plus I was born in Long Beach, so really, SoCal is my true birthright.
