@Alvaro_13072 Did you ever reset your trainer ID or kept it the same throughout the hunt? Would it change anything if I did?

@GodSceptile The RNG uses Trainer ID & SID and requires fully closing and reopening the game each attempt. Every step is timed to hit the shiny’s seed and frame. ABXY resets change the seed and frames, so pressing buttons similarly each time is fine

@Alvaro_13072 Thanks! I’m seeing people using RNG. How is it possible when the seeds and odds reset and are random everytime?

@GodSceptile The only advice is to reset the game using ABXY, not by closing and reopening it. You can even press the buttons at the exact same timing each time without worry, every time you reset with ABXY, the seed and the odds will reset. And be patient, you’ll get it 🤞🏻

@Alvaro_13072 Insane. I’m at 7100 right now with three and no luck so far.. any tips? Do you specifically do any timing when you’re pressing the A button or just do the same thing every time

@GodSceptile Well, I lost count 😂, but it’s been about 41 hours, so around 4900 resets. I did it on two consoles at the same time, so that would be about 9800 😵‍💫

@DPowerPlays Bro I’m still in the lab. Spent 6-8 hours the last two days. I’m scared to even look how many total. I’ve been trying since day one TO GET A FUCKING SHINY BULBASAUR WTF POKEMON GODS

@Luckstruck9 Doesn't the RNGM process indicate you're repeatedly selecting from the same set of charmanders? You should get a new trainer ID for a new seed or vary your timings more

😭At this rate, the Destiny 2 Roadmap is gonna come out before I get my Shiny Charmander 🤓17,000+ resets means I'm over odds by more than double (1 / 8192 base odds) 🤪I may need a wellness check in a week

@Lukapaka @Luckstruck9 I think in FRLG, the seeding does change for every reset

@Xeonj @Luckstruck9 I think seeding does change in FRLG. Only gen 3 has the seeding issue if the battery is Dry.

@Luckstruck9 Soft resetting doesn’t change your seed, so def at the very least stagger the time you load the menu/confirm the charmander. If you are too consistent like spamming a you will likely never get it with the TID you’ve been using

@GodSceptile @LeovdaSH No it’s not the same. In FRLG the seed is generated on the title screen so basically if you don’t get a shiny each soft reset generates a random seed on the title screen but most of the time it’s a little random

@GodSceptile @inxfernal Nah you can just stand next to the pokeball in Oak's lab & do a soft reset until you get the shiny.
